The Tryon Challenge will offer tech challenges for the experienced riders and ride-arounds on many of the harder features for those who prefer. Any potentially challenging features will be marked with a different color race tape and will be reviewed during the announcements. Beginners and junior racers will do 2 laps, intermediates will do 3 laps and experts will do 4 laps. Our primary goal is safety. As with many MTB events that are held on singletrack, passing may be challenging on certain sections of the course. Please communicate with other riders when attempting to pass in order to avoid a collision or cause a rider to go off course. There will be a course preview the week before the event. Anyone is welcome but it’s especially recommended for riders that are not familiar with Tryon Park. No racing license is required for this event.

We do not want to upset any home owners in the neighborhood due to riders parking illegally, on a lawn, or blocking driveways. Please respect the local home owners and their properties. There will be two primary parking locations. The first is at the baseball fields on Loudisa Drive right near the park entrance. The second (overflow) parking lot will be at the Christ The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church located at 1000 Winton rd. There will be no parking in the Tryon Park parking lot. Thanks for your assistance
At Kona, we're all about the freedom and empowerment of the bicycle. We have been since 1988. We still have the same founding owners. We're still populated by a staff of keen, active, impassioned cyclists. We're not big, nor are we that small. Just a dedicated group of cyclists making bicycles for people who love bikes-no matter if that love is new or long established.
